It’s great to see the kids get comfortable and confident handling the animals they help to take care of! These TCH regulars were able to help the teachers out to introduce our campers who are new to the farm to some of our four legged pals.
Solar purifier in action! We had a week full of fun, water activities, survival skills and bees! 🐝 today finished out the last day of our May camp, but our June dates are just around the corner!
Enjoying the great weather and awesome company at Camp Wild
Survival skills at Camp Wild! The kids made a bed from leaves and branches, and it was so cool!
We’re so grateful that we have such a cool friend who the Lord gave such an amazing heart. She knows so much about the critters and creatures and it’s always a great day when we get to meet her friends 🦎
We had so much fun on Day 2 of Camp Wild at The Cedar House. The children worked on bee habitats for mason bees who don’t live in normal hives and like small skinny spaces, water colored bees, dipped candles and of course had water play all afternoon. So much fun 🤩
CAMP WILD enjoying all the animals and fishing!!
Mrs Stephanie from @zaneandjamesapiary came out to CAMP WILD to share all the things about Bees 🐝 We loved her heart for bee keeping and their honey is the best around!! Afterwards we took some old brood comb and melted it down to begin the process of rendering beeswax for candles!!!!
CAMP WILD started today!! So much fun was had at the pond!!!
Coming back with some more player highlights! Meet Peter ⚔️ this young man was amazing, and performed with both of our casts as Peter. He did a great job, and was a joy to watch. Bravo!
Fledge’s ducklings hatched this morning!!!! A first for The Cedar House pond!!
Our sweet duck, Fledge has sat on this nest for weeks, even all last night through the storm. He faithfulness paid off! This morning she hatched adorable ducklings!! This was her very first bundle!!
Our special guest came back for the final NAP lesson on foraging and exploring the flora around us. Isn’t Mrs Turnip Green just the greatest?!
Some hands on learning to finish out our unit on acceleration, gravity, and Newton! These guys amazed me weekly with how much they retained from the semester and how well they could explain forces and motion. Truly exceptional how hands on experience facilitates deep understanding even in our youngest students.
That’s a wrap!! Our last day was a bit uncharacteristically wet and chilly for May in Texas, but that didn’t stop these kids from our annual boat races! They had a blast on the pond racing, swimming and just playing in the water. 🛶 what a great last day!
This Friday is the last day to register for our May Camp Wild!!! Register your kids today so they can join in on all the fun!!! If Nat does not work, we have one more just around the corner in June!!
Happy Mother’s Day to the Mamma’s who make The Cedar House happen!! We are so blessed by these Mamma’s!!!
