Samantha grew up in the DFW area. She received a BFA in Musical Theatre from Sam Houston State University, married her husband Chad, and then joyfully welcomed their son. Samantha has always had a passion for worship through the arts and for working with children. Her favorite place to be is outdoors enjoying nature and God’s beautiful creatures. The Cedar House is a perfect combination of all her favorite things, and Samantha is deeply grateful to her friend Abby for her courage in following her dreams and for sharing The Cedar House with the home school community in Texas.

Laura grew up in Texas and graduated from Ouachita Baptist University with a BA in Accounting and Information Systems. While in Arkansas for college she met and married her husband John but got them both back to Texas as soon as she could. They have three wild and wonderful girls that keep life fun. Her favorite things are reading, Disney, adoption, friends, family, and Jesus. Her first experience with The Cedar House was through sending her kids and it was one of the best parts of their homeschool.

Meghan is a Pittsburgh, PA native. She attended the University of Notre Dame and moved to Texas in 2008 where she continued her education and became a Physician Assistant. She works in the emergency room in several local hospitals, mainly Presbyterian in Rockwall where she lives with her husband and two daughters. Meghan is excited to join her children and all of the families at the Cedar House this year after her older daughter enjoyed a wonderful first year of both homeschool and The Cedar House last year. Meghan was a rower in college and has a love for bodies of water, hiking, science and camping.

Kenzie grew up in Greenville, Texas. She married her high school sweetheart, Nekoda and they have two wonderful children. Kenzie has been a stay-at-home mom since she had her firstborn and takes care of a few other children. She has a heart for animals and kids and would keep them all if she could. The Martin family is looking forward to their first year at The Cedar House.

Ali grew up in Kingwood, Texas and graduated from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration. She lives in Fate with her husband Blake and their three very active boys. Tucker is 8 years old, Jase is 6, and Carson is 3. Ali enjoys spending time with her family whether it be on the lake, river, camping or just in the back yard swimming and hanging out. Her and her family are members of Redeemer Church in Fate, Tx.

Laura comes to us from Long Beach, CA. She now lives in Richardson with her husband and two boys, Hudson (14) and Lincoln (11). This year begins their 7th year homeschooling, and Laura will be taking on the adventure of teaching the Bear class. She enjoys exploring nature with her family, antiquing, baseball games, road trips, and – like a true lover of education – buying books!

Kelli is a Rockwall native, and a mom of 5: Angel, Henry, Serenity, Penelope, and Kennedi. She and her family live in Fate, and this will be their 3rd year of homeschool. One of Kelli’s favorite things about homeschooling is NOT being within 4 walls all day, so teaching our Hedgehogs class is a perfect fit for her! She and her family love spontaneous fun, hands-on-learning, soccer, gymnastics, and hiking and camping together.

Julie was born and raised on 5 acres in Norman, Oklahoma and has been livin’ the big city life in Dallas, TX for over a decade. She and her hubby have two kids: Hudson Knox & Nova. Julie yearns for her kids to know what its like to grow up in the country with all the things that come with that. To have country roots. God placed on their hearts to start homeschooling the beginning of last year and through all the uncertainty and newness, they found a rhythm, fell in love with the like minded community of it, and plan to continue indefinitely. Outside of homeschooling Julie is a lifestyle family/wedding photographer who has mostly put that business on hold for now… and former licensed Interior Designer…before having kids. 🙂 She will be co-teaching the River class of Foxes and Raccoons. She is excited to help lead these kids closer to God: to know him, love him and instilling a love for learning all while outdoors in his creation.
